Ludhiana police have advised city residents against hiring modified
limousine cars, saying that these vehicles had been modified in
violation of the Central Motor Vehicle Act.
On orders of the Punjab and Haryana high court, the district
transport office and the traffic wing of Ludhiana police have been
tracing such vehicles to cancel their registration.
On Saturday, assistant commissioner of police (traffic) Dhruman
Nimbale said these vehicles are likely to be impounded and, if such a
vehicle is challaned during a marriage, celebration would likely be cut
short.
